Born in 78? Feng Shui and you.

A good friend of mine, Derrick C., told me something very positive the other day. You see, Derrick is of the type Chinese and his father is a believer in your basic Feng Shui philosophy. If you don't know what Feng Shui is, you can find the Wiki entry here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feng_shui).

Derrick's father told him that people born in 1978 are about to transcend into the new year and begin to have an even more important impact in our society and our culture. That is, it's the next generation that is about to step up and lead.

To me, that's pretty exciting. So if you're born in 78 then get ready. It's your turn to shine.

Chinese Democracy

I almost felt obligated to buy the new Guns N' Roses album being a fan of the band since Appetite for Destruction. Let's face it, the latter album can never be replaced. When I first heard about the new cd with Axl featuring different band members I was hesitant to buy, so I put it off for a while. But every time I walked by an HMV or music store it was there, staring me in the eyes. I think every GNR fan deep inside has a longing for Axl Rose. He represents this bad ass character that we love to hate.

I have to say that Chinese Democracy is definitely a great album. I love it. All the reviews out there seem mixed. I think fans and critics are just scared to really admit how wicked it is:)

And to all those opposed.....hmmmmmpf, well.

Buy a snow shovel!

I'm back in Toronto from my brief holiday in Vancouver. I've never seen so much snow before in the West Coast. There was literally a few feet of it. It seems my travel luck is good as both days that I flew out were sunny and clear. Meanwhile on TV, I watched hundreds of travelers stranded. I felt their pain.

And speaking of stranded, my Dad got stuck in his brand new SUV. He had to walk about a mile or two to get his shovel from home. The West Coast was so surprised by the weather that snow shovels were sold out in all stores.

Who knows when you'll really need a shovel? You really should have one for the garage and even one for your car. Even a small one in your trunk could come in handy and even save you from trouble.

So while it's nice out, go to Walmart/Canadian Tire and get yourself a shovel. A $20 shovel is a lot less than a $150 tow.

Vancouver bound

I'm off to the West Coast for the holidays, visiting Vancouver. Vancouver is the type of city that reminds me a one giant ski resort. It really is beautiful there. You really can do all sorts of things there from snowboarding to rafting.

I haven't gone snowboarding at Whistler yet but that is definitely one of my to-dos eventually.

I'm glad to see that Snowmaggeden has past by and as I look out the window, I see clear skies and a bright sun.

I'll talk to you then.

So I'm digging Blogger as my blog application. I've used WordPress before, and I'm finding that Blogger is about 10 times easier to use. Sure it's got some Google branding but I'm a big fan of Google anyways.

So, if you look to the right of the main posts area of my blog you'll find my Blog List. There are 14 Blogs that I continually read and are some of my favourites.

Check them out for yourself and subscribe.

Snowmagedden

As I woke up this morning and looked out my window I saw clear skies. On the radio and tv the talk was about a huge storm making its way toward Toronto. I thought that this was unlikely. And I was wrong. And the weather men were right; for once.

I remember in 1999, Toronto called in the army to help with its snow removal. I wonder if tonight, we'll see any signs of the armed forces coming to our rescue. I highly doubt it.

As for my office, it's pretty much empty except for my manager and the Marketing team.

As for my plans to head out downtown tonight, that most likely won't happen. Meanwhile the storm outside is getting worse. Will I be trapped in here tonight? I hope not.

As long as the weather clears by tomorrow night I'm content. For tomorrow I fly to Vancouver. Hopefully I'll escape Toronto's Snowmagedden.

The Inaugural Post

Well here it is, my first post on my new blog. I've actually been blogging for the last three years except I kept my original Blog private and open only to a few lucky readers. But now it's time to share my ideas with the rest of the world.

I hope that if there is anything you find here interesting that it serves you well.

See you in 09!
